And today’s question is: What are chelating agents and can I use those on my stone surfaces? The answer is NO, you cannot use those on your stone surfaces. A chelating agent would be something like citric acid. What it does is it causes minerals to clump together.
Purpose of Chelating Agents
So, it’s great if you want to remove soap scum or hard water deposits. Not so great on natural stone, including granite, which is usually acid resistant, very sturdy stone, found in a lot of kitchen counters. But let’s stay away from chelating agents and stone. They don’t mix.
Alternatives to Chelating Agents for Stone Surfaces
